A friend died last night. She was biking in the evening, was struck by a car, and died. I am so sad for her husband and little children.
She was more of an aquaintance than an actual friend, but she and I were headed towards friendship. She was going to come to tea with me and my friends this weekend. Now we'll never know if we could have become close.
Opportunities lost are the saddest things. She had no idea that yesterday was the last day she would spend with her children. So go hug your loved ones right now, and spend today as if it could potentially be your last. No complaining. No grumpiness. No impatience. Just enjoy the day.
I'm certainly going to.
Oh, Sally. What a sad thing for everyone. And it definitely reminds us all to cherish right now.

How very, very sad. My thoughts and prayers will be with all of you and your friend's family.
